Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Clean Cats Grooming. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) help me make sure everyone has a smooth and positive experience with my cat grooming services. By booking an appointment you’re agreeing to these Terms. If you have any concerns or don’t agree with them, just let me know — i’m happy to help!

Services Provided

I provide professional grooming services for domestic cats, including but not limited to:

  • Brushing

  • ‘Dry’ Bathing

  • Hair trimming/cutting

  • Shaving

  • Nail clipping

  • Ear and eye cleaning

Services are provided based on the specific customer requests. Please note that certain procedures may require additional time or cost.

Appointments & Cancellations

  • All grooming appointments must be booked in advance through my ‘Contact me’ form, Whatsapp, or email.

  • All bookings require a deposit of £30, which’ll be deducted from the final balance, that is payable within 24 hours of the provisional booking. If the deposit is not received within the 24 hours, the appointment is not secured and will be made available again.

  • The deposit can be paid by online bank transfer. The deposit is fully refundable if the adequate notice period is given to cancel the appointment.

  • I require a 48-hour notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Failure to cancel or reschedule before the 48-hour period will result in the deposit being lost. A new deposit will be required to book a new appointment if this occurs.

  • If I arrive at your home and am unable to carry out the grooming session because of a forgotten appointment, or you are not at home, or your cat is not available, the deposit will not be refunded.

  • Please make sure all cats are given ample opportunity to go to the toilet before their grooming appointment.

  • Please do not feed less than 2 hours before the appointment.

Pet Health & Safety

  • Equipment and uniforms are disinfected and changed between appointments to prevent disease transmission.

  • Cats are handled with care and their health is a priority. If a medical issue arises during grooming, the session may be stopped, and the owner is expected to seek veterinary care—full grooming fees still apply.

  • For health and safety reasons, all cats will have their nails trimmed before grooming.

  • Cats showing signs of aggression may be muzzled.

  • Owners must disclose their cat’s health history and accept responsibility for any pre-existing conditions or related treatment costs. Health-related advice given is not a substitute for a veterinarian’s opinion.

  • I reserve the right to cancel services if a cat presents with a potentially infectious condition.

  • For the safety of the groomer (myself) and your pet, I require that you disclose when booking if your cat exhibits or is prone to any difficult or aggressive behaviour.

  • Any irregularities noticed during grooming will be shared, but these are not medical diagnoses. Clean Cats Grooming is not liable for post-grooming effects, such as irritation or skin issues, especially if caused by clipping.

  • If matting requires shaving, Clipping may reveal hidden skin problems and cause minor nicks or irritation.

    De-matting will be done safely and severely matted areas will be shaved and not brushed out. This may alter the coat’s texture or colour and significantly change the cat’s appearance.

  • I reserve the right to refuse service if your cat is visibly ill, aggressive, or unsafe to handle. If your pet becomes stressed or aggressive during the grooming process, I may halt the session to ensure safety for both the pet and staff. If an appointment cannot be completed due to aggressive or difficult behaviour, payment for the appointment may still apply to cover time, handling, and resources used up to that point.

Grooming Process & Results

  • My priority is the comfort and wellbeing of your cat, and while every effort will be made to meet your grooming requests, I cannot guarantee specific outcomes due to the nature of individual cats’ temperaments, coat types, or behaviour.

  • If your cat’s coat is matted or severely tangled, I may need to shave the coat, or patches of the coat, for safety and comfort reasons. I will discuss this with you beforehand.

  • Any special grooming requests must be made at the time of booking. Requests made on the day of the appointment may not be able to be accommodated.

Matted Hair

  • Cats with matted coats require special care during grooming. Matting that remains in a cats coat can tighten over time, restricting movement and causing pain or discomfort, as well as the possibility of open sores. Severe matting may require shaving, and removing a heavily matted coat carries the risk of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to trapped warts, moles, or skin folds. Additionally, heavy matting can trap moisture and urine close to the skin, promoting mould, fungus, or bacteria growth, which may result in pre-existing skin irritations. You agree that any grooming, including shaving, is performed at your own risk, and you release me from all liability. The full grooming fee will be due, even if I am unable to complete the entire grooming process.

  • Aftereffects of mat removal can include itchiness, redness, and self-inflicted irritation. Hair clipping may also impact coat regrowth, potentially resulting in patchy or uneven growth, colour changes, or texture variations. By consenting to the removal of matted hair or shaving, you understand and accept these possibilities.

  • I advise keeping outdoor cats warm and indoors until their coat regrows, as they will be more vulnerable to UV exposure. Please take appropriate precautions until the fur has fully regrown.

  • Some cats may also show temporary behavioural changes after a shave, and a changed appearance may cause issues in multi-cat households where other cats may not recognise them upon their return. I cannot be held responsible for any behavioural changes following grooming.

  • To minimise stress, I encourage prevention through regular at-home grooming and scheduled grooming appointments. Additional fees apply for any matting or knots removed.

Liability

  • I take every precaution to ensure the safety and well-being of your pet during their grooming session. However, by using my services, you acknowledge that there are inherent risks associated with grooming, including but not limited to; minor cuts, abrasions, or stress.

  • You agree that Clean Cats Grooming will not be held liable for any injury, illness, or damage that occurs as a result of the grooming session, except for cases where I am found to be negligent.

  • By booking an appointment with Clean Cats Grooming, you are confirming that you agree with my Terms and Conditions.

Insurance

  • Clean Cats Grooming holds full Public Liability insurance, which can be viewed upon request.

Payment

  • Payment for services is due at the time of completion of the grooming session. I accept cash or bank transfer.

  • Prices are subject to change without notice. You will be informed of any price changes before your appointment.

Grooming Packages & Additional Charges

  • Grooming prices are based on the size, breed, and condition of the cat. Special services or requests may incur additional charges.

  • A general pricing guide is available on the website. Any quote provided at the time of booking is an estimate only. The final cost of the groom will depend on various factors that can only be assessed in person at the beginning of the appointment. By booking, you agree to pay the final price as determined by me based on your cat’s individual needs and condition.

Customer Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for providing accurate information about your cat, including its breed, any known mats, temperament, and any medical conditions.

  • You agree to ensure that your cat is available for their groom and that I am able to complete the grooming session in a safe and clean environment. Clean Cats Grooming has the right to cancel if the environment is deemed unsafe or unsuitable for completing the grooming session.

Privacy & Data Collection

  • I respect your privacy. Any personal information collected during the booking or grooming process will be used solely for business purposes and will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except as required by law.

  • By booking an appointment, you consent to me collecting and using your contact information for appointment reminders, marketing, and promotional purposes.

Use of Photos for Marketing

  • During the grooming process, I may take photos of your cat to showcase the results of my services. These photos may be used for marketing purposes, including but not limited to; on my website, social media platforms, advertisements, and promotional materials.

  • By using my services, you grant Clean Cats Grooming the right to use images or videos of your cat for marketing and promotional purposes. If you do not wish for photos of your cat to be used, please inform me before your appointment.

  • I will never disclose personal information about you or your cat without your explicit consent.

Modifications to Terms

  • I reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on my website and will become effective immediately upon posting.
